Thoughts & Facts

William Corey - Children’s Show Image– RegainTheMagic.com For centuries, children of all ages have been fascinated with magic - whether it be in a book, movie, cartoon, game or T.V. show. Most notably are the many myths, legends and stories of Merlin, C.S. Lewis's "Chronicles of Narnia", J.R.R. Tolken's "Lord of the Rings" and, not to be forgotten, J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" series.

Magic is an intriguing and powerful subject, especially for children, because it offers escapism and the use of imagination in the purest form. Likewise, a live magical performance must tap into the same mystery and wonder of imagination while understanding the sensibilities of the audience.

Children, generally over the age of 4 years, are old enough to understand an impossibility when they see, experience or are part of it, thus they can appreciate what is presented (those younger, often cannot). As such, children above 4 years not only want to be entertained but also involved in the performance in some way.

Although some older children (usually in the age range of 8 to 12 years) are hesitant to admit it - they, too, want to believe in impossibilities. This is not to suggest that they will not enjoy seeing an entertainer perform amazing feats by themselves but, it is far more awe-inspiring when they are taking part in or are even doing the marvels within a fun-based atmosphere that does not insult or put down the participants and audience members.

William Corey knows and understands what children of varying ages look for within magical entertainment and has developed a few revolutionary performances based upon the age range of the children wherein they, guided by him, become the "wonder-workers".

Note: All of William's performances are designed from the ground up with a particular group and their needs in mind. He also understands that there will be some spill-over of others present. As such, those more senior members of an audience, which is designed for a much younger set, may be surprised to discover an equally enjoyable and even "magical" experience.

William's Offerings

If you are looking for something truly special (aside from the general magical offerings) for children's parties, the following performance may fill the bill...

General Children's Magical Entertainment -
(This offering is available in lengths varying from approx. 20 to approx. 45 min. in length - depending upon your needs.)
Within this interactive performance offering, like all of Williams performance offerings especially for children, William does not crave the adulation of being the all powerful magic man, nor does he frame his show in the context of "look what I can do". Instead, William's method of entertaining those present is one of a group effort. This is not to say that he does not demonstrate some things to build wonder, but the majority of the performance is focused around guiding those present (particularly the ones whom are willing to assist within the entertainment he provides) in making the magic happen in a fun and entertaining manner (without ridicule, insults or put-downs for a cheap laugh). For birthdays - if the birthday child is willing, they are highlighted at the start and end of the performance. Additionally, all of those who are called upon, after completing the task(s) presented, receive a special keepsake as a reminder of what they did.

The Wizard / Wizardess Magical Discovery Workshop -

Those present get a chance to see and meet a real live wizard (complete in robes) and participate in this uniquely interactive performance, in which they are guided by William Corey, via the use of a collection of spells to discover their inner wizard / wizardess. For birthdays - if the birthday child is willing, they are highlighted at the start and end of the performance. Additionally, all of those who are called upon, after completing the task(s) presented, receive a special keepsake as a reminder of the magic they possess.

-Important Notes: -
Regarding William's Children's Entertainment

William Corey does not offer a clown character, balloon twisting, puppet shows, juggling exhibitions, sing-a-longs or party games. Nor does he fill his performance offerings for children with such activities (finding, instead, that a well-structured, engaging, and fun-based magical presentation by a skilled magical entertainer / wizard is more memorable, meaningful, and magical for everyone present).

It should also be understood that the only "secret" that is given away during William's performances is that which most scientists, inventors, teachers, dreamers, and those who have done things that others said were impossible realize - that is - if one believes, just about anything can be accomplished.

Since William Corey is an entertainer and not a sitter, he requires that at least two adults be present for the duration of his performance
.

Your Role

The presence of a magical entertainer can be a fun and entertaining diversion for younger audiences. Unfortunately, not all magical entertainers are equal in their ability to make an event not only fun and entertaining, but assist in making happy memories that will last long after the performance is over. Fortunately, these are just a few of William Corey's many specialties.
